How I work with you

Though you are coming in with a condition that is unique, what you have in common with everyone that comes in is that you have a spine.  The spinal column, made up of 24 individual bones stacked on top of one another is meant to move while protecting the nerves that come from between the bones.  It is the brain sending messages through the nerves that control the body functions.

IMG_7297-1 If a nerve becomes choked or blocked from a bone out of alignment and putting pressure on the nerve, this limits the movement of the spine, causes postural imbalance of the body, and organ function can be changed that those nerves normally feed.

Before I work with you I first have to be very confident I can help you. This is determined by talking to you and finding out your problem.  Next is to find out where in your spine the problem is coming from.  We do this by taking a look at your posture, checking if spinal movements are restricted or make sounds when you bend, I feel if there are muscle spasms and what your body is trying to do to the bones those muscles are attached to, if there is heat or swelling coming from your spine, and I palpate each individual bone to verify what bones are out of alignment. This is called an assessment or examination and is done fully clothed.

Once I am confident that I can help you and I have located the problem area, next I want to know the age of your spine.  This is a calculation based on the findings from your assessment and helps me to help you by pin pointing how easy or difficult it may be to make the correction.  Other factors that help me determine if a correction will be easy or difficult are from your history and your test adjustment.  When I can put all this together then I can tell you how I can or I can’t help you. It is at that time I will be able to tell you in detail how long, how frequent and how much your investment in care will be. You will know all this before we begin any plan of action and you will be given all the options to make a choice. I am here to serve you and to be of help to you.
