About

drdonWelcome and I thank you for visiting my website. My name is Dr. Don Schmolder. Everyone calls me Dr. Don. This information and my office exist to provide you with the most current as well as 27 years of experience, and the patience developed in me to serve you my best.  I know your time is valuable and you are searching: for the right information to your questions, the right person you can call your chiropractor and the right office you can call home.  I am honored that you have found me and it is not by chance or luck or coincidence you are here. To help you take the next step to meet one another to see if I am worthy to be on your team let me share with you something dear to me.

I grew up in the South Bay attending South High School and graduated in the class of ’79.  At that time and even in grade school I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor.  Why?  Because at the age of 10 I was helped tremendously by chiropractic care and always knew this was my calling, my life’s work, my mission. You might say I had the miracle adjustment but looking back it was a miracle through a person who was called a chiropractor.  It was not by accident, luck or chance that this happened. That is why I can honestly say to you that you are here for a purpose that was planned before you got here. Because Chiropractic philosophy recognizes the fact the body did not make itself and has an innate wisdom that is beyond our intelligence it is not difficult for me to make the conclusion there is a Supreme Being who designed, determines, and directs what He created. He loves His creation so much He demonstrates this over and over again in my life and those I care for and care about in my office.

After graduating High School I was advised that my strengths were in English and Art so I went to college my major and minor.  I soon rediscovered my love for chiropractic care through the same chiropractor who helped me before. Two years into my college adventure and after a spinal check up and adjustment he could tell I was discouraged.  He invited me to his house and we talked into the night.  My soul, body and spirit were now back in alignment, set in motion, to go forward with a chiropractic education.  I faced those fears, those classes, particularly the sciences like anatomy, physiology and chemistry that I was told in high school were not my strong points.  One class, one day and one year at a time led me to graduating from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1986, the youngest in the class, at the age of 24.

1986 was a big year for me; I graduated with my DC degree, passed my board exams for California, decided to open my own practice, and married my beautiful wife Lynne and we are happily married going on 28 years as of this writing.  I have a lovely daughter named Shannon who is currently engaged to be married.

Fast forward 15 years into my private practice.  I decided to enroll in an adult magic class thinking I could use it to encourage the children, and adults, to better understand my profession while having fun.  At the first class a counselor took registration and tuition.  It turns out that was the same counselor that told me not to go into the sciences and discouraged me from chiropractic school. He recognized me immediately when I approached him and he asked, “what are you doing now?” With a big SMILE  I told him, “I am a chiropractor and have my office in Manhattan Beach.” He said, “I am glad you didn’t take me seriously.”  I replied, “no worry I am better at what I do and in my life because of him” and I thanked him.

There is purpose and order in life. There are reasons one becomes sick, injured or ill.  There are reasons when the body cannot overcome the forces of bacteria/viruses, mutations, allergens, stresses that are always bombarding the body.  As a chiropractor I look at building up the body, strengthening it’s ability to be balanced, allowing it to do what it does best; communicate so the ‘doctor’ within can recover or keep the body well.  Doesn’t it make good sense to remove road blocks that allow the body at failing verses covering up symptoms of a failing body?

I would like to be on your health team.  I have already decided I would make a good partner in getting you the care you need and to maintain the health you want. If you want the same thing we would make a great team.  I make myself available by email, phone, text, and in person should you have a questions or concern.  I hope the best for you and when our paths cross more than in this virtual setting I know it can only be an amazing encounter with purpose, clarity, vision that I am already blessed thinking about it.

I have been serving the South Bay area since 1987.  Explore the site and check it often as I will be adding regularly.  Thank you for taking your time to be here.
